Summer Program

Our students enjoy a summer full of fun and excitement, from swimming and beach clean-ups at the Santa Monica Pier, hiking on the Angeles Crest and at Griffith Park to camping and surfing at Leo Carillo State Park. They also enjoy the art classes, ceramics classes, music workshops and dance which are so popular the students spend hours of their own time practicing. We also have basketball and volleyball, as well as other sports. The students have a blast while learning every step of the way.

Shakespeare Workshop

Each summer the upper school students take part in a four-week study of Shakespeare. The fist two weeks finds them studying the selected play and viewing it live. The last two weeks the students concentrate on studying Shakespeare's life and times. They also enjoy the fun of learning fencing and archery. Following which they work on producing a scene from the play they have studied and performing it live at their graduation.

International Students

Our strong emphasis on phonics and language arts, combined with our individualized instruction, create an environment that is friendly and perfectly meets the needs of international, foreign-speaking students. The flexibility offered at the Shuttleworth Schools accommodates the unique circumstances of families from abroad. New students are partnered with "helper" students for an experience that is memorable and educational for both.

Our staff creates a tailor-made program for each student. Additionally, the student's culture is explored in lessons designed for his fellow classmates and new friends.
